I got stuck with Autologin Windows 10 – My mistake was to add the “DefaultUsername”. I was really sure this isn’t necessary and Windows uses the last credentials, but it is.

So you’ll need to add 3 Registry Strings:

  • DefaultUserName
  • DefaultPassword
  • AutoAdminLogin

Read all the Details in the Article

So you are really interested in all the Registry Basic stuff? OK – here we go – Autologin for total Beginners.

Click on “Start” and enter “regedit” in the Search Field. Navigate within “regedit” to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon

Autologin Regedit

Change / add the 3 REG_SZ Strings:

  • “AutoAdminLogon” set Data to “1”
  • “DefaultUserName” set to your Windows Login Name
  • “DefaultPassword” set to your current Password

Now you’ll need to reboot and your Windows should logon automatically afterwards.
